The word “power” in Acts 1:8 is the Greek dunamis, and it means the dynamic ability to effect a change. When you received the Holy Spirit, you received the ability to change things.
That means you are never a victim of your circumstances. You have inherent ability in you to alter what you do not like about your world; in your health, in your finances, in your family and in your city.
But ability that is not exercised produces nothing. That ability is released through your words and through your faith. Speak to the situation. Refuse to describe your world by what you see; describe it by what God has said.
You are God’s change agent in your generation. Take responsibility for your world today.
Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for the dunamis of the Spirit at work in me. I exercise that ability today and effect the changes I desire in my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
