God expects us to grow. He tells us to make spiritual advancement; you should be able to measure your life continually to see that you are making progress. And if you can make spiritual progress, progress in every other area of your life is absolutely assured, because the spiritual controls the physical.
But how do you measure spiritual growth? Not by feelings, and not by how long you have been in church. You measure it by your response to the Word, and by the fruit of your character.
Give yourself to the Word. Study it, meditate on it and act on it. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Change your thinking with the Word and you change your life.
Decide today that this year will not find you where last year left you.
Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for the Word that builds me up. I give myself to your Word today, and I grow from faith to faith and from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
