We are engaged in a warfare, definitely. But we have to know what the warfare is about; what the enemy is fighting, and what kind of fight it is.
Sin is no longer the issue between God and man; the issue is sonship. Jesus dealt with sin once and for all: “But now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself” (Hebrews 9:26).
The devil’s strategy, therefore, is to keep you sin-conscious, because a sin-conscious Christian is a powerless Christian. Instead, be righteousness-conscious. Know that you have been made the righteousness of God in Christ.
That consciousness is your armour. Wear it today.
Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for putting away sin by the sacrifice of Jesus and for making me your righteousness in Him. I live today righteousness-conscious, bold and victorious, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
