Christian Character & Living

Share

Dear Pastor Chris, how much does my day-to-day conduct matter now that I have been made righteous in Christ?

Character is not how you behave when you are being watched. It is what the life of God in you looks like on an ordinary Tuesday.

Righteousness is a gift; character is its expression

You were made the righteousness of God in Christ — that is settled, and no conduct of yours earned it. But that new nature was given to be expressed.

Where it shows

  • In how you speak of people who are not in the room.
  • In the work you do when no one inspects it.
  • In the way you handle money, time and other people's trust.

Let the Word train your responses, and Christian living stops being a set of rules and becomes who you are.
